Simone Says: A S’Mac-ing Good Brunch

Yesterday, I ordered that one thing that really hit the spot. Like that mouth-watering, steamy plate of goodness.

My sister and dad were participating in the Central Park 10k race and my mom and I were there for support. The fam and I go to NYC quite often, especially because my sister lives there, so it was nice to head over there again. That was a lot of fun, but of course, being the food lover that I am, I was pumped for the post-race brunch.

We went to a restaurant called The Smith at Lincoln Center. Our reservation allowed us to skip the line; we got seated outside right away. My sister and I both mentioned how good the avocado sandwich looked – we both ended up getting it. My dad got blueberry waffles; his excuse was that he just ran a 10k so he can afford a sinful brunch. If I had to use one word to describe that mac and cheese, I would say “WOW”. It was so amazingly delicious and I enjoyed every bit of it, though my family had some as well. Here’s a snap of some sick-nasty mac and cheese:

The waiter said it would take about ten minutes to make the mac and cheese, but who cares! It came in a sizzling pan and it was so pretty to look at; I made everyone put down their forks and spoons so I can capture this moment.

In the top left of the picture, my sister enjoyed her passion punch mojito. My mom had a beautiful latte, my dad had iced tea, and I had an iced coffee which was light and fresh and just so good.

As for my main course, as I mentioned before, I had an avocado sandwich with my sister and my mom. It was so fresh and it was a healthier option because I didn’t run 6 miles an hour before.

The sandwich had a perfect amount of (from top to bottom) lettuce with some dressing, avocado, goat cheese, tomato and thinly sliced cucumbers on toasted multigrain bread. It originally came with onions but I don't do onions.

For my first legitimate food post, I give a big shoutout to the Big Apple for once again, proving itself worthy in the food world. I don’t regret ordering that amazing mac and cheese, but it isn’t exactly a smart choice for my (non-existent) diet, especially when I’m working for that beach bod for summer. Oops.
