Hi there! The last time I’ve written something for simonesaysfood was awhile ago, and since then, I’ve eaten a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. This post is so special though because I will be telling you about my favorite meals from the happiest place ever, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I go to JH almost every year with my family, and I’m writing about my adventures this year, just like I did last year.
Jackson Hole features the most amazing scenery, ranging from fields and meadows to the most unbelievable mountains. Waking up to these views amazes me, and eating under the mountains is just awesome. To get an idea of what I got to see every day, here’s a photo of the Teton Mountains in Wyoming.
This was from my favorite hike, around String Lake. The lake was so still that the mountains, which the peaks were in the clouds, cast a perfect reflection upon the water.
On the first night, we went to a family favorite, The Kitchen. This modern restaurant complements the scenery and the weather; we ate outside and we enjoyed the heat lamps provided. We got my favorite appetizer, luxury shrimp. Here’s a snap:
Topped with sesame seeds, the fried shrimp is rolled around in a sweet sauce that makes it such a good starter.
Another night, we made it to the greatest Thai place, Teton Thai. Besides being legit right under the mountains, the setup is great and the service is nice as well. Teton Thai features Thai food with a twist. I got this amazing spring roll with cilantro and tofu, that came with a peanut sauce. Here’s a snap:
Other amazing restaurants include my favorite, Snake River Grill. My dad and I like it especially for their elk, which some may thing it’s gross, we love it. The way they prepare the elk was unreal and I definitely enjoyed it as it’s the only place I get elk. My mom’s personal favorite are the eskimo bars, which are frozen caramel/graham crackers coated with hard chocolate, which comes with an amazing caramel sauce (mom even asked for a second jar of the sauce because it’s that good!!)
To end this vacation post off, I’d like to present you with the most amazing breakfast place ever. My family goes there every year before we head to the airport and it was super worth going (we went there twice in a week HAHA!) This place, The Bunnery, is famous for their cinnamon buns and the good vibes. I got my favorite thing, the tuna melt, and of course we had to get a cinnamon bun to embrace the moment.
Wyoming truly is the greatest and happiest place in the country. The mountains, with a side of horses, and amazing food, nothing beats my happy place. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for an adventure and a place with a “western” vibe!
