Chop chop! Let’s get going! Summer is here and it’s time to make a splash! If you’re going to the club, a big party, a bar, or just the salad bar, you should always have an appetite for a great time. You don’t necessarily need to have that summer bod that you were working for, but be confident and do whatever floats your boat. Grab friends, go to the pool and enjoy a burger straight off the grill, a personal pizza for yourself or treat yourself to a plate of french toast, because why not! Unless you are super adventurous and you order the french toast AND a side of bacon, you can stick with the classic salad.
This is what I did the other day. I took a trip to the salad bar and treated myself. I usually treat myself to a nice meal, even when there isn’t anything to celebrate, but I finished school, so that was enough of an accomplishment to enjoy a big salad. My salad included all of my favorites and blended together, it makes a masterpiece of flavors. It contained romaine lettuce, kale shredded carrots, corn, grilled chicken pieces, fresh mozzarella balls, dried cranberries and avocado chunks. Here’s a snippet…
I don’t know how big it looks from the picture, but it was too big for sure. I can’t help going crazy when the salad bar has everything you like… it’s a real struggle to fit everything into one bowl, but I manage (most of the time).
I got my usual iced coffee with the “healthy” sweet-and-low and skim milk. Also, not pictured, I added grilled tofu that my sister got on the side of her salad as a finishing touch to the masterpiece.
I was definitely (cheese) “ballin” as I scored big with this salad and it was definitely a sweet treat, like my dried cranberries, to enjoy this meal with so many flavors.
